Admissions

Is your child due to start school in September 2023 and your place at Birchwood has been confirmed?

Please visit our New Starters tab on the parent drop down menu for further information.

Mid Year Transfers

Any parents wishing to discuss the admission of their child are welcome to contact the school office and/or Head of School who will be pleased to talk through the admissions procedure and show you around the school.

The total number of places available in our Reception class, based on the admission number set by the Local Authority, is 30. We do take applications from pupils who live outside the catchment area but acceptance is based on admission numbers and the admissions policy as defined by the Local Authority. The published admission number for the school is 30 in each year group.

Suffolk County Council Children's Services are the admissions authority for Birchwood Primary School.  Please see full details on how to contact them below. Alternatively, please contact the school office who will be happy to talk through the process with you.

A statutory school place must be applied for either online or on a Common Application Form. Forms should be sent to your home address in the September of your child's 3rd Birthday. However, if you do not receive this information you should contact Suffolk County Council Children's Services using the details below.
